How do I track my balikbayan box?

Enter your tracking or receipt number on our “Track a Box” Shipment page. You’ll receive updates as your box moves from pickup, to our Kansas City facility, through sea cargo, and on to delivery in the Philippines.

I lost my receipt or tracking number. Can you look up my shipment by name instead?

To protect our customers’ privacy, we can only track shipments using a valid tracking or receipt number — we’re not able to search by sender or consignee name. If you can’t locate your number, contact us directly at [913-238-8800] and our team will help you recover it from your account history.

Is UMAC KC the same as UMAC nationally, or other UMAC branches?

UMAC KC is an authorized UMAC company partner serving Kansas City and the surrounding Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa region. We operate under UMAC’s standards and network, so your box benefits from UMAC’s national tracking system and shipping infrastructure while being picked up and supported locally by our Kansas City team.

What areas do you serve?

We’re based in Kansas City and provide pickup and drop-off service throughout Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa. Although we only have certain cities with UMAC agents so please contact us if you want to know the closes one from your area.

How much does it cost to ship a balikbayan box?

Rates depend on box size, weight, and destination in the Philippines. Rather than posting a single price that may not reflect your specific shipment, we invite you to:

What box sizes do you offer?

We only have one size box available.

Is there a weight limit for my box?

We don’t enforce a strict weight cap, but very heavy boxes may carry an additional handling fee. This helps ensure the box holds up during transit and that our team can safely handle it at every step — from pickup here in Kansas City to final delivery in the Philippines.

What items am I not allowed to pack in my box?

For everyone’s safety and to comply with U.S. and Philippine customs law, please do not pack:

  • Illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, or alcohol
  • Weapons, ammunition, explosives, or military equipment
  • Cash, jewelry, or items valued over $500
  • Flammable, hazardous, or liquid materials that could leak or combust
  • Perishable food, meat, produce, plants, seeds, or soil
  • Live animals, pets, or animal remains
  • Counterfeit goods or items that infringe on copyrights/trademarks
  • Pornographic material

Boxes found to contain prohibited items may be seized by customs, and the sender may be held responsible for related fines, delays, or legal costs. When in doubt about an item, ask us before you pack it.

Do you open or inspect my box before it ships?

We do not open customer-packed boxes. However, U.S. and Philippine customs may conduct random inspections to verify that contents match the packing list and that no prohibited items are included. This is why an honest, accurate packing list is so important — it helps your box move through customs without delay.

How do I safely pack liquids (perfume, lotion, sauces, etc.)?

To prevent leaks from damaging your box or other items:

  1. Make sure any pump or spray tops are locked.
  2. Wrap the cap/opening tightly in plastic wrap, then secure with packing tape.
  3. Place the sealed container inside a separate plastic bag.
  4. Avoid placing liquid containers against the box walls or next to sharp/heavy items.

Is my box insured? What happens if something is damaged or lost?

Your box is insured up to $200.00 per box

Do you ship from the Philippines to the U.S., or only U.S. to the Philippines?

We don’t ship from the Philippines back to USA at this point.

How do I schedule a pickup or find a drop-off location?

We have drop off and pick up service mostly in the bigger cities but if you live in a small or remote town or new in the area the best way is to contact us.

How long does delivery typically take?

Sea cargo shipping times vary by destination in the Philippines and time of year. Contact us at 913-238-8800 or ask when you book your pickup for an estimated delivery window for your specific route.
